I was contacted by a rude employee several months ago in regards to an account that was opened in my name while I was in college at a Best Buy. I contacted the credit card company and they do not have records for an account in my name and I also contacted Best Buy and they do not have transaction information for the account. I continually receive nasty phone calls claiming I owe money but they will not provide any transaction information or account information. It has been several years since college and I could barely afford school tuition let alone a Best Buy credit card. The delinquent account information is not on my credit history but the calls and letters continue.
I have asked to speak with a supervisor and get a bull crap answer. The customer service caller tells me I have to fill out an affidavit with my personal information on it for the issue to be filed as a dispute. I have worked in the credit card fraud industry and my degree is in criminal justice and that is not how a dispute works. Just an FYI for anyone out there.
