The Chilling Effect of Retaliation

Id like to ask those from GEICO reading this were the deaths of Medgar Evers and Dr. Martin Luther King in vain?

As we get ready to celebrate the birth date of one of our most prominent civil rights leaders Was his death in vain? Then why are you working so fervently behind the scenes to undermine the reason that he died? If I worked in headquarters and knew all of the intricate details of all of the situations that are going on in other regions and someone came to you out of the goodness of their heart to report someone you clearly knew messed up big time by showing favoritism and discriminating through the Ethics line I would not see them as an enemy but an aide. Especially when you had to do what you did in the long run. If I am blessed to be working in a position where I am a direct recipient of those civil rights leaders past sacrifices - I would have to ask myself is it possible that I have let my position in this particular situation and a couple of extra $s in my pocket silence my conscience to ignore the blood on my hands.

Do you know about an employee who called the Ethics Hotline and reported discrimination? Was this persons identity protected by the HR, headquarters or executive offices or did you serve this person over to the wolves on a platter? Did you know that once this person with good intentions contacted you that when you turned your back on this person they were subjected to brutal retaliation? Most of the so called witnesses did not know the full story and that this was the second time that this employee previously made intimidating hand gestures as if they wanted to do your whistleblower physical harm.

What is the purpose of your Ethics line then? Is it just a game to you?

What kind of people are you and how in Gods name do you sleep well at night?
