One Day before christmas, I deposited money on the Netspend all access prepaid visa card. When I got my balance, it told me I was over 500 dollars in the negative. Basically what happened is the cash advances I got almost a month ago showed up as duplicate charges. When I called up the number, I told them to take the duplicats off. They said first that I kept using card and made the charges. I then proceeded to use logic. "How can I use the card with no money on it"? I said. Bottom line is I have to wait 2 days before I can use that money because they have a process. They need a letter from my bank stating that they are not going to put through the pending charges on the banks letterhead.
The strange this is the pending charges are on their after almost a month. Using a debit or credit card at a regular bank, it takes 3-5 days before a pending charge drops off the account if it is not posted by the bank. Like when a merchant verfys your identity with a credit card a charges $1. That charge will drop off in a few days because the merchant wont post it.
Netspend does not do that. They keep it the pending charges on for a month. Then when you tell them to reverse the pending charge because it has already posted with the bank, Netspend gives you the run around.
I cut up my card and wil not use that pre pay anymore.
THere is only one other place that I found is alot worse than netspend, that is MOMENTUM. Never ever use MOMENTEM, or netspend.
