Ocwen Mortgage and New Century Mortgage
Lied to us causing us to move and then sell the property

We started our mortgage with New Century Mortgage in 1997. We continually made our monthly payment of $637.33 a month on an ajustable rate mortgage for three years without any knowledge that our interest rate went up and our taxes were no longer included in our payments. Very seldom did we receive a monthly statement from the company. We were never informed about the money that we owed the company for the interest rate hike and the back taxes until it was too late. At one point we received a statement from the county about taxes due, but we did not have the money to pay both the Mortgage company and the taxes. We did the best we could with what we had but were forced into a Foreberence Plan. When it got to tough, we had to file Bankruptcy to ease the pain of our struggles with the Mortgage company.

After the Bankruptcy was filed and the Mortgage company found out that we had started paying the taxes through our Chapter 13 Plan, they payed the taxes in full and sent us a letter telling us that we owed them more money or they would foreclose on our property. We did not have the money that they were wanting so we had to move out of our home with 1 child and another on the way. At this point, we thought that we lost our house.

It turned out that the day the house was supposed to be foreclosed on, New Century had sold the Mortgage to Ocwen Mortgage. During this time, my family and I were living in a Motel for almost two months until we were finally able to find a place to lease. After our first month in our new place that we were leasing (and still are), we were contacted by Ocwen Morgage. The gentleman on the phone wanted to know what he could do to help fix my situation.

We agreed to a Foreberance plan of almost $1,500.00 a month which was to cover all late fees, lawyer fees, insurance and tax. This was to bring our loan current. Now don't forget we are already living in a house that we signed a 1 year lease on. We couldn't move so we rented the house we owned.

After we had problems with our tennant, we had to evict her and sell the property. We requested a pay-off balance from Ocwen and found out that we had an Escrow advance of almost $8,000.00. This really messed up any possibilities of being able to make any money from the sell of the property, but we needed to get this monkey off our back, so we took the loss and sold the house.

To whomever you are that contacted me, God Bless You. I hope we can all get some retribution from these Rip-Off professionals. I know it would be a blessing to myself, my family and everybody else that has suffered from these crooks over the years. Now lets get busy and nail these guys, and restore faith in the Home Buying process to first time buyers.
