Help! What are the privacy laws? I continue to receive solicitation letters from an life insurance company. I receive this correspondence/offer due to my membership/bank accounts at the Dover Federal Credit Union.
My full name, address, and birthday are printed in the solicitation. I have received my third yesterday. I am concerned because identity theft cases continue to increase. Many institutions use birthday dates for identity confirmation. I am already paranoid, I shred credit card offers, anything with personal information on it, even medicine prescription labels.
Can banks freely give this information out?
