Plaza Associated sent me a statement with an higher, incorrect amount than my original debt. Several hundred dollard higher, that is.
After offering me a settlement amount, I agreed to pay it two payments. After recieving my first payment, Plaza Associates inflated the balance due to more than four times the correct balance due.
They refuse to edit correspondence, put me on hold for excessive periods, and claim that I breeched my end of the bargain because I sent my payment with certified mail. I did it because I was suspicious after having payments to other companies "lost". It is easy to see why they don't want certified mail payments: they can;t steal the money by denying reciept!
For months I have been harrassed with incorrect statements that make threats. I call to try and right the imbroglio, but it is clear that they are doing diversion, bait and switch and other old fashioned common theft tactics to trick me and rip me off!
I don't know what to do - I can't afford to loose my hard-earned savings to a bunch of incompetent pencil-pushers who do business like a bunch of thugs!
