On 8 Afni sent a letter requsting me to pay $800 for a phone bill that is not mine. I immediately sent a certified letter requesting a debt validation and I made sure to write down the certified letter number in the letter. I havenot heard from Afni yet (it is alreay 3 months after I sent the debt validation request)
Now, the problem is that Afni is still checking my credit report because I see Afni on the soft inquiries section of my report. The soft inquiry is dated 10 which is 2 months after I sent a debt validation request.
Is Afni allowed to check my credit report? If yes, then why is Afni still checking my credit report after failing to responde to the debt validation request?
