My name is Guy Matthews Sr. And I have a serious concern with CountryWide Mortgage. I applied for and received a refinanced loan with CountryWide however I was steered into mortgage insurance because I was not aware that should not have been paying mortgage insurance. My LTV rate was 73% at the time of my loan and I was never late on a mortage payment. I had as you can see lots of equity and should not have to have this insurance. I was very upset to find out that CountryWide would use this kind of preditory lending. I called to inquire why this was done to me and they never fully explained except to say that all FHA loans have mortgage insurance. I asked them why was I steered towards this loan. CountryWide also treated me as if I was ignorant and I quess I was to a certain extent, however I was under the impression that a mortgage company had a fiduciary duty to treat their customer fairly and I bargained with them in good faith thinking they would give me the best deal.
