Beware of Bad Managers

I do believe that NAA, for the most part, is a good opportunity particularly if you have a good and supportive manager that allows you to literally protect the family and not force you to chase people down to make their own pesonal goals.

I was not one of the fortunate ones and, as a result, I had to let my relationship with NAA slip since I could not get a "release" from my manager. I loved working with NAA so much so that I left my job of 15 years to pursue a full-time career. My manager was fine when I was doing well. When I hit a wall after getting into a car accident, I was told that I was a loser and that I must not really want to be a winner in life. I could not believe that I, as a grown person, was being called a "loser". I was not provided the support that othes had received. Some received free leads from their managers until they had a good pace, given personal support on top of support through plugging in the system, etc. I, on the other hand, was not trained how to do certain applications but when I took a stab at it on my own, I was told that I was sloppy and not professional. I was told that if I wanted A leads I had to "committ to a closer relationship". If I had a slow week (maybe 1 or 2 apps), I hesitated talking to my manager because I knew that my character would be questioned. I would be asked what was wrong with me, what did I do wrong, and of course ending on the note of how I must thrive to be a loser.

Not all NAA managers are like this. Some support, teach, encourage you to do your best, and help you push past slumps. Mine on the other hand, was insulting, demoralizing, and greedy. On top of it, when I asked to switch managers, I was told I had to ge a "release". My manager would not "release" me, so I had to go with no production just to get rid of him.

If you have any interest in NAA, scrutinize your potential manager. Do not get caught up in the numbers. Pay attention to the person that would be above you. I have since found a company where there is no upline manager and your commision rate begins at 80% with weekly payment. If my infantile manager did not insist on calling me a loser, I would not have found this opportunity. Thanks NAA!
