ASC bought my mortgage from GMAC in June.
I was not notified in time and made my June payment to GMAC. I immediately started getting two to four calls a day on both my home and cell phones informing me I was late on my payments and assessed late charges. I also received a letter stating I owed $15,000 for an escrow account I didn't have.
I finally talked to a supervisor the first of July and she told me to not make any payments until they notifyed me in writing on the status of the escrow. The phone calls continued on a daily basis sometimes as late as 8:30 at night the rest of the month. I still hadn't received anything in writing by the first part of August so I talked to another supervisor. She said go ahead and make the July and August payments so I did. The phone calls and letters stating my account was way past due continued.
On September 6 I sent ASC a letter asking them to quit calling me and to please clear this matter up.
In October I went to refi a property I own and found out that they had reported to the credit bureau that I was 30 days late on 9/7. This dropped my credit rating over 50 points and will result in a higher loan rate on my refi.
I finally found a supervisor at ASC that agreed to help my clear up this matter on 10/19. He was very helpful and agreed to get the matter settled and clear my credit on the following Monday.
Since then he will not return my calls or faxes pleading for a simple letter stating that I have never been 30 days late and allowing my mortgage broker to clear my credit of this blemish. I even faxed all of the information to ASC's credit department with no reply.
It looks like I will have to proceed with the refi costing me a higher interest rate and thousands of dollars because of ASC's incompetence.
