Attempting to take total insurance payoff after attmepting to commit insurance fraud

We purchased a mobile home and had financing through Oakwood Acceptance Corporation in 1999. After three years or so Vanderbilt took over. I paid untold amounts of money to get my account current so I still had a place to live. My husband at this point had become disabled. My mobile home was struck by lightening 6/30/07 and on 7/2/07 a message was left for Ms. Goodman about the loss.

On the 18th of July, I was notified that Vanderbilt has force placed insurance on the mobile home because we were not insured, which we were of course. Two days later they called my insurance agent and then notified me they had cancelled the insurance. I for some reason am skeptical they actually did because they can get double money if they only cancelled it on paper and maintained the policy. Then the fight has begun. The insurance required for the mobile home was $49,250. I insured my home for $57,000 because of a deck added on, a room added on and an enclosed porch.

As soon as they saw the insurance coverage they automatically claimed the payoff was $57000. When questioned I was told the actual amount that should have been insured was just over $50000 and when asked why the difference they said they didn't know. I kept referring to their insurance company and they wanted to know why I kept saying that. I informed them that their name was at the header of the paper.

I am sitting with a $57000 check in my and their name and do not know what to do. They have continued to add charges to the acount, will not send a payoff in writing which has been requested numerous times, have called my insurance comapny to have a check issued in their name only because I supposedly told them I ripped it up. Now if no accord can be reached, it will be turned over to the state and we will have to go to court and I will lose because I will have to pay an attorney.

When will someone be able to stop this perpetrated fraud caused by Vanderbilt. I have in writng a copy of the policy placed after they were notified the trailor burned. Even though they cancelled it they attempted to commit this action intil they called my agent (still do not know why). I also have received two coupon books to make payments on something that no longer exists. Thye also said I had not made payments since February but had yet to repossess the home. What were they waiting for?
