We have been fighting with Vanderbilt for at least 6 months because they have placed an insurance policy on our house when we already had an insurance policy through another company. That company has notified them time and time again but they still haven't gotten it straightened up.
They have also added escrow to an account that had a statement of no escrow attached to this loan. We had our contract with Oakwood Acceptance which was then bought by Vanderbilt.in our original contract which still stands there is a statement and signed paper that says no escrow is attached to this loan. Vanderbilt says they have the right to add it to our loan and add the insurance policy because they "never received our insurance information".
The company we have our insurance through sends them a statement of it every year. Vanderbilt has contacted us constantly to tell us all kinds of lies about how much we owe them and that we had a lapse in insurance which is why they put the policy on to begin with. Even again this year they are continuing to keep the policy they forced on the loan. They have been notified that we have insurance through another company and still will not drop the other insurance causing our payments to increase. They also say we are behind on payments because we didn't send the extra amount for the escrow.
This is one of the worst companies I have ever heard of and something needs to be done. We need to all go together and report them to every agency possible and find a way to file a suit against them. They should have to pay for our loans for all the harrassment and lies they tell.
