5th-3rd Bank's slogan "The only bank you'll ever need" needs a makeover. The slogan should be changed to "The only bank you'll NEVER need."
They charge fees like someone eating their last meal on the way to the electric chair. The only difference is they do it as often as they can, for whatever reason they want to, legitimate or not, and the customer is the one that gets killed.
Account overdrawn by $16.28. Overdraft fee = $132. But wait, account is not REALLY overdrawn at all because $86 is in "pending" transactions. It's a card swipe that has not cleared the account. So really, account is almost $70 to the positive.in fact, the daily balance shown online is $69.72. There is absolutely no legitimate reason for these fees. Unless of course, the stockholders' ROE is the only thing that matters.
Called the 800 number. Here's where the fun really started. I was assured that immediately when my card is swiped, the funds are set aside awaiting the transaction to post to my account. So, despite the fact the transaction has yet to clear the account, the funds are no longer available.
These people think if they just continue to babble the same thing over and over and over again, we'll eventually believe them. Well, it's not gonna happen. Just because they say it doesn't mean it's true and doesn't mean I believe them.
If these fees don't get reversed, I gone.
