My 18 year old daughter signed up for a checking account with National City Bank. She made a mistake and overdrafted. The total amount was less than $100 but they insisted she pay four over draft fees totalling $190.
I thought we could negotiate a deal like some banks will do and at least pay a lesser nogotiated rate since it was her first time and she is just learning.
Wrong. The local branch manager on Saturday claimed that bank policies are not flexible, just like her personality, and that it was erither pay or close the account. We closed the account.
Repeated inquiries to the customer service department about some help only received the same type of arrogant message. Read the small print you will pay all overdraft fees regardless.
No problem. I will have my family take their business to Monroe Federal where they actually talk to you like you are more than just an opportunity for profit.
