Knowingly Attempts to Collect Cancelled/Non-Existent Debt

MCM Midland Credit Managment attempted to collect from me either cancelled/non-existent debt from over 20 years ago. What's intriguing is that MCM claims to represent the Debtor, when they do not. This is a 100% fraudulent organization. And my State's Attorney General has whacked them hard, and advised me to report them to the FTC, Federal Trade Commission.

Advice. 1. Do NOT respond to any MCM demand letter, by phone or by mail. 2. Immediately contact your State consumer protection agency, giving them details. 3. Calm down and recognize that what MCM does is not only fraudulent, but may be illegal.

I have a legal background, and am taking pleasure in going after these people. I already have a slam dunk victory in the bag. Next up is getting the Feds to go after them. Trust me, MCM backed down real quick when my State's Attorney General asked them to prove they were attempting to collect a real debt. MCM folded its cards immediately. They admitted they could find no record of the debt, that they were NOT representing any creditor, and then my State's AG forced them to remove any MCM listings from the Credit Agencies.
