I had contacted an attorney to file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in July. Due to Katrina, the process wasn't complete. Although, I could not maintain payments on my car, and I am willing to return the vehicle if my attorney advises me that it would be in my best interest to do so. I haven't returned the car because my family and I are being blatantly harassed at home and at work.
These people have continuously made calls to my family, making arrest threats and possible kidnapping threats (my aunt was told by Ms. Dear that this company knows that I put my daughter on the school bus at 7 am and told me that they know my son has a cardiac condition). My cousin's neighbors have been questioned about my whereabouts, the people who my cousin purchased the house from and they also called the people who used to own the house across the street from my cousin.
They've called my job to file a "complaint" with my supervisor against me three times in the last two months.
I spoke to Mr. Willie Adams on the evening of 9/19/07, I told him the car is being repaired by a someone by boyfriend knows, I want to get my vehicle from the guy who is fixing it, get my things out of it, but I will not until I receive sound legal advice in this matter and I am willing to make arrangements for them to retrieve it, but I received 4 telephone calls this morning on my cell phone and on my work phone. I specifically told Mr. Adams not to call me at work 5 times.
I have been threatened to be arrested at my job. The harassment has escalated to a point that I am afraid to answer my phone at work, for fear I may be fired because of it, because they yell and scream at me & I just hand up the phone and they call right back.
I expect to speak to my attorney this afternoon in this matter, I am documenting the harassment & I am getting affidavits from all family members and neighbors who have received phone calls. It is ILLEGAL to harass anyone for any debt and I intend to pursue filing damages against this company.
