Harassing myself, family and neighbors

Unfortunately my husband lost his job in October of 07 and was unemployed for 3 months. Then I stopped receiving child support from my ex husband in December of 07. I have been late on payments to this company and do not dispute that but have been and am making valid attempts to get caught up including multiple payments in one month's time. They have continuously harassed myself, my husband, family members and now neighbors.

They continuously divulge personal information, including but not limited to, my vehicle payment being late, the amount that I owe and how far behind I am. Mnd you, the amount given is typically outrageously exaggerated. They have lied and told family and neighbors that my vehicle is in repo status and that it will be placed in solen status. They've evidently pulled random phone numbers of people with the same last name as us and have called them as well. They lucked up at one point and happened upon one of my husband's aunts who lives in a different state. They call my place of employment consistently during the day even though they've ben told numerous times that I work in the evening.

The final straw today was them calling my neighbors. I don't think there is a word that can properly describe how angry I am. The particular neighbor who let me know was told that it was in regards to my vehicle which was in danger of being repossessed. She answered her phone and was told this, who knows what types of messages they left for other neighbors that aren't home. I called CPS and told them under no circumstances are they to ever call my neighbors again but after reading other complaints on here I fear that that won't be enough. I've reported them to the Better Business Bureau and will also be sending a certified letter stating that they are not to call neighors, family or work and are not to divulge personal information to anyone but myself or my husband. But again, who knows if that will work.

They're customer service is horrible. I've asked for supervisors and the same person has gotten back on the phone pretending to be a supervisor. I've been hung up on and my calls were somehow magically disconnected for the remainder of that day.

The only positive outcome from this experience is that now I know to research a finance company before signing anything.

As others have stated, I would gladly participate in a class against suit.
