Since FIA took over my credit card payment services about 12 months ago, I have been fined over $100 in connection with late payments. Remember I had never made late payments before all my life. I always pay on-time and pay in-full.

What caused my late payments? They mainly used four techniques: (A) they don't send you the statements so that you forget. They have skipped my statements 5 times within the last 12 months or so. (B) They change your billing cycle without notifying you. They did twice to me. I just found out today they changed my billing cycle again (from 11th to 4th, which is only 3 days from today and today is a Saturday and Monday is Labor Day. I will sure miss the deadline if I don't call. I called them because I haven't received this month statement). (C) Record your check arrival date late and charge you anyway. For my June bill, I mailed out the check on 7/8th and it arrived at their processing center on 10th (I was told by their rep - Jeffery - today). They recorded my payment on 16th, which was sure later than 11th. (D) They induce to dispute the charges and their reps agree with that they will credit the charges back to your account. When you assume you don't have to pay the charges levied, they charge you finance fees on the disputed amount and additional $10 for related services.
