I recieved a call from Asset Acceptance on my work / business phone and was promptly asked if *^ was the last 4 of my SS # and I told her that was none of her business and asked what the call was in regards to and then she asked for the last 4 of my Social Security number with no identification of who the caller was or from what company or what the call was about. When I asked what the call was in regards to the woman promptly stated Blair and proceeded to hound me to verify my SS #. When I asked for her name and company information she yelled at me telling me I did not have to be so rude to her and hung up on me.
I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and was promptly hung up on again.
So I called back and when the man answered the phone and I asked for his name and to speak to a surepvisor I was again hung up on.
Again I called back and asked the person who answered the phone for his name and was told it was Dewayne Carter, Obviousley a fictional name, and asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold and several minuts another man picked up and I asked his name and title, he told me, Mr. Crawford and then I asked his title and he replied he was a manager. I then asked for an operator number for him and he became extremely beligerent and very verbally assaultive with me. At this point I asked to speak to his supervisor and asked for a name and this Crawford man stated my supervisors name is " CLICK" and the phone went dead.
I have no idea who or what Blair is. I have not idea of what these people want.
They are calling me at work on a business line and refuse to give me any information or cooperate in helping me to find out what the hell is going on.
Is this normal for Asset Acceptance?
I am versed in Fair Debt and Collections Laws and this has really tweaked me in regards to this companies behaviors and disregard for the Federal Laws on attempting to collect a debt and customer service.
Not only am I worried about what this is about but now I am in fear this company will give out part of my Social Security # based on the woman spouting off the last 4 of a Social Security number and not knowing if she had the correct person or not.
