The other night my father recieved a phone call from Asset Acceptance asking to speak to me, my father replied he does not live here but will pass the information on to him.
So I call the debt collector after my father calls me at my home to tell me these guys need to speak with you. So I call Asset, and they tell me that I have a $2200 credit card debt that is over 5 years old. The credit card I had at the time was a providian card with a credit limit of $500, not really to sure how they got a $2200 figure?
After speaking abit with the debt collector I gave them my address to them and my number to reach me, and I told them not to call my father because I dont live with him.
Then she ask me how are you going to pay for this? I told her im willing to do low monthly payment. She agreed to my offer of $100 a month and then ask me to give my checking account number to here. I told her I'm not giving you my checking number. You will have to bill me monthly I will send a money order.
After I told her that she started to become rude to me.in her words she said, YOU Don't get to dictate how you send us money, then I said, I guess you guys not getting any money. Then she became rude again and said I know where you work. If you don't settle this now You will pay more later. I eventually got tired of her threats and hung up on her.
The next day the same lady debt collector calls my father again after I told her not to call my father. My father calls me back telling me she was rude to him, asking for me.
I don't know how Asset Acceptance can get money from people, if they got very unprofessional people working for them.
