In September after my husband lost his full time job, we contacted Wells Fargo Home Mortgage to let them know and asked if they could help us in trying to make our mortage payments. At that time, they told us they could. However, it didn't turn out that way.
I, Carol, am very ill, with 12 major medical problems that require several doctors care. I am unable to work... On social security disability and we had to have a special ramp and porch put in at this house for my wheelchair. My only recreation is the computer and TV.
We told this to Wells Fargo and asked them if they could please lower the interest rate since my husband still had his part time job and then we would be able to make the payment. They refused.
In September and October of we made the payments they required us to make with money orders that they also required. They are now denying that we made those payments even though we have receipts they won't give us credit for them.
At the present time, they have now told us that in Oct of this year they are going to "throw us in the street". Due to my severe health problems, my doctors have said I can't move or it could take my life.
They now say we are 16 months behind and want nearly $14,000.00 or we are "out of here".
They are harassing us badly by making phone calls at the rate of 18 times weekly beginning as early as 7:30am and even on Sunday! This alone is very disturbing!
Could someone please help us. We have tried so many times to reason with them and they are so mean to us it is a travesty.
On top of all of this, my husband is deaf so that is making it even harder for him to secure another job that would help us make our payments. We no longer know what to do.
We bought this house 10 years ago. When I asked them what equity we had in the property they told me "None". I also asked them if we could do a reverse mortgage and they said "no"!
When I tried to get them to give me the payoff on the house, they also refused saying I didn't need that information because I wouldn't be able to use it.
So I guess if we can't get someone to represent us in this and help us we will be on the streets the first part of October.
I tried to get a physical address from them, they refused to give me one. We have paperwork from at least two different states. We have two post office box numbers, one for correspondence only and one for payments.
