This company called us on the phone stating that we were approved for a $2,000 credit card and all we had to do was give them our bank information and that a $99.00 yearly fee and $30.00 activation fee would be charged.
We thought, great! However, after more consideration after we got off the phone with them, we tried calling the number back that they gave us and it was a fake number. Then we tried to search the web and found nothing on them. So, we thought it was a fardulent company. We called our bank and explained things to them and they put a stop pay on anything from Unverisal Credit Card.
Then about 2 weeks later we got a letter from them stating that they could not access our account and that the card was cancelled. We again, thought great! But then today, I noticed that there was a strange charge on my account and sure enough, it was that company coming in and taking $128.95.
It was under a Health Insurance Company, totally not related to Universal Credit Card. When we called to cancel the card and get our money back they said that we would have to put in a "request" for it and then it's not even guarenteed.
We asked to speak to someone in the refund department and Universal said that they could not speak to us because they only deal with faxes, emails or letters. So, needless to say, our attorney is working on it and this company, Universal Credit Card is a fraud and have very, very, very, poor business practices.
