IPA representative's called then showed up same day promising they could locate fund sources for our company, guaranteed! After two people for two days hung around the office we recieved a meaningless report and a bill for $8,500. Thier recomendation "Factor" our accounts receivable.in a nutshell get cash for receivables and lose 10% of our receivables value.in other words instead of obtaining funds we would lose cash out of our receivables.
As part of their tactic they asked for and we gave them post dated checks with their assurance they would not be cashed if we were not satisfied. After we received their silly report we stoped payment on the checks and wrote them a letter informing them of our dissatisfaction and cancelation of payment.
We have received a fax letter from IPA indicating their intention to take legal action against us. IPA is located in Illinois and we are in Ohio.
We are looking for advise as to how to proceed from here.
