I have received repeated calls from this company, Alliance One, for my roommate, this is used as his mailing address. They have cross referenced my address and now are calling my telephone, even though he has his own telephone, a cell phone, which has been disconnected. (GOOD FOR HIM!!!)
I've told this company I'm not his answering service, nor his administrative assistant, this does not deter them from leaving messages and threatening me on the phone. (What... Ever)
I have assured them I will not give messages to him, THIS IS MY TELEPHONE, not his. I don't owe anyone any money, (okay, I owe Citibank 62.50, and it's current.) My credit rating is over 800, (perfect, not a mark or late payment on my credit)
I admit, I am stunned by what this company has said to me and threatened me with on the phone, ("HE'LL LOSE HIS ASSETS, YOU'D BETTER TELL HIM!!! He owes alot of people money!"
excuse me, he doesn't owe people money, he owes usurious companies money, and they can go to hell! Even after I've told them "this is not his phone, I don't owe you money, do not harass me on MY TELEPHONE!!!") They call back and leave messages on my answering machine, telling me I am "rude". Oh, yeah???
They haven't seen rude yet.
I have a whistle next to the phone, and someone is going to lose an eardrum next time.
Regardless of the status of my roommate owing money, he does not deserve to lose a roof over his head, these people have no limit to how low they will stoop to collect!
I am more protective of my roommate (he's actually a great person, by the way) because of the way this companys' collectors are willing to behave than inclined to provide any information to assist them in collecting.
I call them back and harass them, treating them even worse than they are treating me. I can curse like a sailor, then I hang up and laugh, we do reap what we sow, after all, would they like people to treat them like this when they are down?
They have been trained to do this, I just finished a certified letter, demanding these calls cease and am willing to proceed to court for an injunction and to seek damages for harassment. I'm quite certain they will ignore the letter, (I went through this before with Cross Country Bank on a measly debt, they were ruthless, and I despise them)
I don't think a judge would look too kindly on harassing someone who doesn't even owe you money for someone else's debt.
The gall, they're willing to behave like this. Where is their humanity? For what, $8 an hour?
Talk about selling your soul.
I wish them exactly what they are doing to others. This seems to be a game to them, but the managers should be hunted down and stoned (with rocks, that is) into a coma for what they are doing.
No one is that desperate for a job, no excuses, when will we all say "Enough"!!!
Are we going to bring back debtors prison? I hate corporations, they should be assigned to the trash heap of history, I haven't run across one that behaves any differently!
For money, Shame!!!
