I received a bill from Merchants' Credit Guide Co. May 29 saying they had purchased a bill I owed for $242.43 to AT&T Corporation and I had 30 days to respond to this letter.
The letter also offerd a couple of settlement options $121.22 paid in full and $169.70 paid in installments. I haven't done any business with AT&T and I'm not paying a bogus bill.
When I called the above company a lady said they would be willing to settle this bill with me. I told her I didn't owe this bill and would not be paying it and I let her know I was contacting the Attonery Generals office regarding this issue.
The lady told me since I had all the answers why was I call and that me threating to contact the attonery generals office would not alleaviate me from oweing this bill. I said again I didn't owe this bill and I would not be paying it and hung up.
