I must say that this is the worst financial institution that I have ever dealt with. My husband and I both use to work in the finance circle and I have never seen a company, big or small, to have such disrespectful "customer service" agents. My husband and I purchased our home 6 years ago with a local lender. After remodeling our home and investing a large amount of money into it, we decided to refinance our first mortgage together with our second mortgage that was borrowed for the remodeling. We went with the best company at the time that offered us the best interest rate. Needless to say, we did not read the fine print, and so within just a few months, the interest started increasing, along with our payments. At the time it was ok with us because we were making good money. Then my husband decided to pursue his dream of becoming a law enforcement officer, and so we had to refinance again to lower our payments. The company that we refinanced with then sold our loan before the first payment even came due. They sold our loan to Homecomings. The very first payment with them showed trouble. We have now had our home financed with Homecomings for just 8 months, and we are in the process of foreclosure. The payments continued to increase every month, but yet our income did not. At the first sight of trouble, we asked to set up a repayment plan with them. They sent us the paperwork after requesting it several times. We sent them every document they requested but still no one could give us an answer. Finally, after making threats to them, they decided to call us back and deny our repayment plan. We then decided to borrow the money to reinstate the loan. On a Thursday afternoon, the reinstate amount was $3216.00. On Monday morning, the amount changed to $5299. Just a matter of three days, and they stated the difference was lawyer fees that they had to pay to begin the foreclosure process. Yet at the hearing for our home with their lawyer, he stated that their fees were only $940. Homecomings has yet to explain the big difference in the amount. We could not come up with the rest of the amount so we offered to send them the money that we did have and make payments on the remaining balance of attorney fees along with our regular payments. They denied our efforts. We called them daily and waited on someone to call us back after leaving several voice mail messages. No response on their part. At the hearing, they stated that we were then needing to pay over $8000, which was only 5 weeks after the first amount of $3216. The amounts continue to increase still to this day. We are now in the process of trying to do a short sale with a local lender. My husband and I are approved for the money from a local lender but Homecomings has ignored all contact from this lender even though he is willing to give them the money right now. This means we would be able to keep our home that we have worked so hard for and put our heart and souls into. Still Homecomings has no interest in working with us. They just want to resale, resale, resale!!! I hope that if they decide to not give us the opportunity to keep our home, that they do not have the same treatment in the future. I would not wish this on anyone. They do not even care about the reasons why we were behind or our previous excellent pay record. They just want us out!!! Good luck to everyone else.
