RE: Complaint About Getting the Run Around From Pine Mountain BofA Center

Dear Mr. Lewis:

I have received terrible service from your bank when I attempted to obtain a $200,000 Home Equity Line of Credit from my branch in Kennesaw, Georgia.

As a customer of several years of this branch I naturally approached them when I wanted to obtain the Home Equity Loan on my fully paid for home in Kennesaw.

I initially met with Nina Finke of this branch and outlined what I wanted to do: obtain a line of credit on my 2001 home to purchase a condo in Florida.

I provided the requested information and had my various questions answered. One of those was whether or not I needed to provide tax returns. I was told at least 3 times by Nina Finke that this was not at all necessary, later someone from Dept 33 also told me this.

I returned to Florida with the assurances that things could proceed without my presence. I was amazed to be contacted at the very last minute by someone at your Loan Department who insisted that I MUST immediately provide the tax records for the past 2 years.

I pointed out that this information was at my Kennesaw, Ga. Home, about 8 blocks from your bank and that short of a round trip of over 700 miles that they were not available and I further asked repeatedly why if these records were needed and that I was repeatedly told they were not required and why at the very last minute it was deemed imperative that they now be produced!

I never got any reason for the above questions, only the repeated boiler plate demand that they be produced. I was also informed at this time that my request for the $200,000 line was not available and that only $180,000 was available. This was later (after I had already told BofA to get lost) reduced to $150,000.

By a fortunate accident I had been in Wachovia Bank here in Panama City on other business and saw their flyer on such loans. A bank officer offered to see what they could do although I had told her I was almost ready to sign with BofA.

They beat your rate by a small amount, not enough to justify going with them simply on the difference, but when I started to get a load of BS from your people I told them to go ahead and work up the necessary documents and although your bank had a head start Wachovia got the matter sorted out and ready to do the same day I finally had enough of your banks baloney, so I have signed on with them, for a full $200,000 (and was told they could go to $225,000 if I needed it), they have a slightly better rate, they proceeded without any more evaluation of my current home than a desktop review and did NOT even ask for any tax records.

I might also mention that my credit score' is 772, which is as you know in the Excellent range. I close on my condo here in Florida on May 4th thanks to Wachovia Bank!

I will shortly be closing my BofA account due to this terrible service, which I received from the Pine Mountain Center in Kennesaw. It was a total run around, with one person saying one thing only to be contradicted later by other faceless people on the phone.

I even spoke to the Manager of the branch, a Berry Conine, who was of no help at all. Your bank was a complete waste of my time and I am going to post this on several internet web sites for other people to read. Shortly you will be reading a copy of this letter on usacomplaints.com and other consumer sites.
