On 4/27/07, My wife and I went to open a business checking account at this locally owned and operated bank after closing an account at a national bank for poor customer service.
Since we are fearful of ID theft, and actually had a bank that leaked our Social Security Number before, we do not put our personal information on our business accounts. This has not been a problem, in fact, we opened our other account just 1 month prior to this with no problems.
We have a Tax ID number for the business, and the IRS suggests this be used when establishing accounts for business use.
When we refused to allow our Social Security # to be put on the account, the banking rep became rude and angry. When I asked her to clarify why she needed our personal number for the account, she was unable to answer and became even more angry and rude.instead of simply stating that she didn't know what to do and that she couldn't help us, she wadded up our paperwork.
At this point, she accused us of forging our IRS documents and as we fled the building, she yelled out that we were TERRORISTS in front of other bank customers.
We have been in shock and somewhat fearful that her actions and accusations could actually cause us to fall under suspicions.
She accused us of being TERRORISTS simply because she was angry and could not control herself, and was embarassed that she didn't know how to handle our situation.
