Having a fire in my home in the middle of winter I was forced to max out my Visa to buy a new furnace asap.
All though I have no way of proving it during the same payment cycle My statement was "lost" on it's way to me.

With all the turmoil of having the fire and rushing to get heat back in my house (17 degrees out), and the lack of a statement as a reminder FNB of Omaha charged me for a late payment, plus another penalty for going over my limit by $35.00.

I didn't realize what had happened until I got a call from them.

I explained what had happened, and sent in a double payment even before the next billing cycle was due.

After talking to their rep on the phone and telling them I would take care of the matter I continued to get at least one call a day from their "collectors" and sometimes 2 notices a day in the mail!

Not only did they add a late fee to my bill, they tacked on a penalty for going over my limit by $35.00 froze my account and raised my intrest rate by 9.99%.

I wonder how many people have their statement "LOST" when they get close to their cedit limit with these people?

It seems like it would be a great way to pad their profits, just to not send out a statement in situations like that
