Capital One hit my checking with a automatic debit payment to cap one. I called Cap One and the person asked for my account number, I said I did not have account number, she said it would be on my bill. I said I did not have a bill, I said I was not a account holder. She asked what problem did I need help with. I said you people are debiting my checking account. She asked for my social security number, which I gave her. She said Iam sorry sir your soc sec number does not show up with an account. She very slowly read the number back to me. Yes I said thats right. She said without a account number she could not tell me why my checking account was being debited and was I sure I didnt have a account number. Nope, I said and asked what I could do to find out. She asked If maybe I had authorized a payment on the web. I told her one last time I did not have a Capital One account and said goodbye.
I went to my bank and demanded to know why they were paying Cap O, the bank person suggested maybe it was a account payment, being it was set up for automatic payment, I said NOOO I DONT HAVE ACCOUNT AT CAPITAL ONE. She said she would have the IT fraud people call me after they checked on it. Fraud team could not tell my why. They did ask me if I had account at CAP O, I said NO. I closed my BB&T account and licked my wounds.
