I went to Citi Financial in November to get a new deal on my mortgage. I was told to make six payments on time and they would refinance my interest rate, which is at 9.75. I am a disabled veteran who is serving his country. If America feels this way about its soldiers, then America does not care at all. Citi has threatened me over and over again about the late payments.
I filed a charge with the FTC in Richmond, Virginia, to prevent my home from being foreclosed. I was informed by the FTC that the loan I have is not valid. Citi was not supposed to have a loan of this magnitude. They used their own appraisal to get what they wanted, and I was trapped.
I am willing to talk to the press and whoever wants to interview me because I am only going to expose the truth about Citi Financial. I have a prepay penalty of $8,042 on my loan. I have tried over 100 mortgage companies to refinance and have struck out due to the prepay penalty and the loan total. The company saw me in stress and overappraised my home, with a 2 percent prepay penalty on the loan.
I am currently at a 9.75 interest rate with payments of 3367 a month, plus I have to pay taxes of over 2900 a year and 575 in homeowner insurance out of pocket. I was told by the company that if I made 6 months of good payments, they would refinance me at a lower rate. I was a victim of hurt.
Because of this I was admitted to the hospital for major gallbladder surgery, and over 100 gallstones were removed from my body. I was admitted on the 24th and got out on the 30th. I was unable to return to work due to stress, pain and suffering, as well as humiliation. Please, let's do this for all who are suffering. I am a fighter until the end of time.
