I contacted Grantsearch.com hoping to learn about grants that I could pay off my student loans with. I was charged $9.95 in January for the initial list. I did not receive what I had paid for.
On Febuary 26 $29.95 was taken out of my account, I emailed the company with my request to cancel my subscription. I have not been contacted by the company with any confirmation that I requested. I have not received any information for what I was charged for.
On March 5 I received an e-mail from Dr. Julie Summers at GrantSearch a company located in Australia. She told me in the e-mail that she had received my e-mail wishing to cancel my subscription. She also told me that she had received many same requests as mine. Dr. Summers told me the company was traced back to SmartNet Development and is currently under investigation by the Utah Department of Commerce for misleading consumers with a "free" auction CD.
On March 29 I was again charged $29.95 by this company. I have contacted the bank and have asked for a stop payment and to block any future attempts by this company.
