About 2 and a half years ago we took a loan with GMFS a company in LA. The man that contacted us and said we had the loan was Robert TOrry. Well like most people we were happy about getting a loan. That ment money and bill payoffs. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy. Boy was I wrong.
For three or four months things were going good we were making our payments and I thought this is going to be alright. Then the phone calls started coming in from a company named Homecoming Finance. Like most people would we asked questions who are you and why do you want our information. They told us the they were the ones taking over the loan now and that we needed to make a payment to them. We told them we just made a payment to GMFS and why do we need to make one to you. They said that had no record of the payment and we need to make one anyways. So we called GMFS to see what was going on and the comfirmed that they sold out to Homecoming but we did not have to make a payment that they would call to make things right.
So that payment got strighten out and the calles started coming again the next month. Month after month we got calles saying we were behind on or month bill. So we started sending two payments at one time and the call just kelpt coming and coming.
Well come to find out we took the loan out in 2004 by the end of 2005 we had paid for 2006. Well we thought thing were going good until our payment started coming back to us saying we need full payment to accept the check we did not get any statments say we owed them any money From March until Sept. At this time this would have been Oct. Payment for 2006. On Nov. 01 2006 we got a statement saying we owed them 1375.00 dollars for the past 2months.
We wanted to know where our payment went that we payed and told us that it was applied to the end of the account. How can that be when our payoff balance was not going down. So we called and called and called. We got this person and that person and this person. Every time called someone would tell us something different. We never got the same answer from the same person.
On Jan we got a call from a friend of mine saying that our propery was in the local newspaper and was going to be sold on Feb. 06 2007. We talked to lawyers and we talked to lawyers we even had one write a letter to the person that was holding our property. We even called the person several times and no one would give us any answers or help us save our land. So land was sent back to the bank and we have no home anymore what do we do to get our home back.
My mom built this home with her sweet and blood from boards to home we always said. We only took the loan out because she got hurt on her job and we needed the help. Now all we have is heartach and pain we cry ourselves to sleep every night hoping and praying that someone will give us answers as to how a company can do this to us and so many others and get away with it.
