Warning... Do not use this company. Unless you enjoy wasting your time and hard earned money. We originally spoke with Bill Wood of Amerisave in August of we spoke to him about our situation in great length. Ours is somewhat a unique situation and we knew it would be harder for us to get a loan. He advised us to wait a few months as I had only been on title for a short time.
We called him again in October and he said no problem we will get rolling on the loan. He sent over a Good Faith Estimate listing all the fees plus their SureFee. (That's what they charge rolling all the fees into that so you don't even know what the heck they are charging you for). Everything looked good so we gave him the green light (and unfortunately $395.00).
To make a long story short, all was going well and we were sending him information as soon as he would request it and he would call and update us, we talked to Bill more than I talk to my own mother. Then all of a sudden... Nothing. Didn't hear a word from him. Mind you it is December now, we were supposed to close in November. The last we had heard from him we were scheduled to close soon. (soon. That's one of their favorite words there at Amerisave).
We called and emailed and emailed and called. Nothing. I finally contacted Bill Wood's boss Azeem Malik (whom I never spoke to, but things seemed to happen after I left voice mails for him). Bill called and said everything had fallen apart and we had to start all over. We were very upset and feel like Bill lied to us and kept us hanging and wasn't up front at all with us. We voiced our frustrations and basically told him thanks for nothing.
The following Monday, Bill calls "I have a lender", no problem with the title, no problem at all "already pre-approved". Sounded to good to be true, well guess that's because it was. Again we were going to be closing "next week" (the week after Christmas). Guess what? Never heard from him again! Emailed and called, called and emailed. Next thing we know we get an email from Mary Johnson. She's now our load advisor.
We contacted Mary and everything looked great and we will be "closing soon". Then... Here's the topper... We get the loan documents and Good Faith Estimate and closing costs are over $15,000.00!!! Holy cow!!! We called and emailed and emailed and called saying don't you think this is a bit much, plus the loan and early payoff fees, it was a joke! Believe it or not we never heard back from Mary or anyone else at this fine company.
I complained to the Better Business Bureau and they even lied in their response saying they couldn't get us a loan because I only had a 50% interest in the property. Thing is the two of us were on the loan. Huh? Figure that one out.
Needless to say. Please, if you actually want to get a loan or refinance your home and not just play Amerisave's game and listen to their song and dance, oh yes and lose the $395.00 that they charge before the music begins, avoid this company!!! Bill Wood and Mary Johnson are an absolute joke, can't imagine what the rest of them are like. We contacted another mortgage company two weeks ago and are approved and will be closing this week.
