I saw the report from "Anita" filed 10/14 3:32: 08 AM
and I've had a similar experience. The exception is that I went a step further in that I refused to pay for the bogus insurance. I instead tried to keep up with my insurance company. After over a year of this I asked the insurance rep from my company what is doing this and they told me that the only way to change the mortgage company on the policy is for the mortgage company (or someone with ALL the mortgage information) to call or fax them with the new mortgage company name and the other information required.
The way I stopped this is to have a statement put into my insurance policy stating that absolutely no change is to occur without contacting me first. They did eventually credit my account for the bogus insurance minus one mortgage payment.
The down side is now they are posting my payments late. There just seems no way to stop this company from ripping off the customers.
If anyone out there fall victim to this company I hope the information I've posted helps.
