In May of 1999 I refinanced my house with Greentree Morgage. Greentree's respresentitive highly recommended that we take out life and disability insurance. I hesitated, and then the representitve told me that in the event if I became disabled my house would be paid off. Thats when I took the policy eventhough it was a high cost premium.
I began making monthly payments on morgage life and disability insurance up until July. During this time a had a major stroke and became permanently disabled. The morgage agreement was for thirteen years. During my disability I file for my disability insurance.
Finally after three months of red tape I had to get assistance from the N.C.insurance Commission to get them to make disability payments, and at that time my account was delinquent.
In January Greentree finally sent me copies of my application in which I had not previously seen because the initial representitive had to get the documents typed. I discoverd that Greentree's representive had decieved me into purchasing a temporarily life disablity policy and now taking the position that Greentree was bought out by Consceco.
Consceco later filed bankruptcy and later sold our loan to Greentree LLC. Currenty I dont' have anymore life and disability insurance, and Greentree wants me to make morgage payments. My wife and I are both disabled and cannot work, and they want to foreclose on the house saying that the initial Greentree representitive misinformed us. They want me to pay for there mistakes.
