Typical start to the american story, divorced starting over and making Bad Choices that take a toll on your credit rating. This is where I end up with a car loan financed by Americredit, during the process I am assured more then once that if I make my payments on time I can refinance the car to get a lower interest rate (current was 18%) but I had the new car blues and really wanted it, 6 months in to the loan that is being paid on time I loose my job. I call Americredit, they won't refinance, they won't try to lower the payments or the interest rate, will not cooperate at any level. They suggest trying to find another loan company, I tell the idiot on the line, I'm unemployed what loan company is going to work with that, the money hungry machines response, "Not their problem" make the payments or they'll come get the car. So it's keep a roof over my head or keep the car so that I can find a new job, give up eating all together, choices, thanks to this uncooperative, humanless machine I was forced in to a Chapter 13 bankruptcy in order to keep the car and a roof over my head. 5 years later my credit in the toilet, because you can't finance or get credit while in a chapter 13, so now when I have a good job and want to buy a home I can't because the mortgage companies see numbers not people and circumstance. BEWARE stay away from the humanless money grubbing machine that calls itself AMERICREDIT.
