Good Morning, to start off, this email needs to be looked at by your superiors. I understand how this works and please let your supervisor know about this email. For this is the first step in this process.
I was a customer for a small period of time and had intended on remaining a customer for a while until 12:30pm, on Dec 18. Over last weekend I noticed overdraft fees on my account while my account never went negative. $115 was taken out over a span of 3 days. The first $25 was taken out from nowhere which in turn brought my account negative which (just a little appropriately timed if you ask me) caused 3 charges (totaling less than $25) to overdraw, adding the additional $90 taken.
On Monday, I went inside the bank to attempt to have this corrected thinking it was a bank error, for everything was accounted for when I checked. When I spoke with the bank manager, unfortunately I forgot her name, she gave me an explanation that could not be understood unless you have banking knowledge, so I dug deeper in her explanation and this is where it all went bad. She started to become rude with me, like she knows she has the power kind of rude, even one point completely interrupting me mid question saying this, "Stop talking and listen", my parents stopped talking to me like that 10 years ago. Later in the conversation she stated, (In a F*K You kind of way), Looked directly at me and said, your not getting these fees refunded.
At that point I was so livid I expressed feelings that I unfortunately should have kept to myself. I said some things to her in the heat of the moment which i'm not proud but how rude she became to me just because I was questioning her response, I couldn't stand it.
What happened next is where my problem is. She says to me that due to my behavior, she is closing my account. This manager took me into her office and completely screamed at my face, offered no choice to correct the situation or satisfy me in anyway. So I went out to withdraw money from my account, but I forgot I had given my CC to her to pull up my info, I go back inside to get my CC back and she says, "NO, I'm closing your account." I was like what, I never authorized that, than she had the nerve to tell me another $25 was to be taken off my account, so that was it, I continued to let out expletives towards her (one thing in particular I really apologize for) and the situation and she decided to call the police.
The police came, she closed my account $25 less than what it should have been, and I cannot go back to that branch, fine that isn't the problem... The problem is how badly I was treated which was the reason I was treating her rude as well. I have never had this experience in my life and plan on doing what ever needs to be done to acquire my $140 taken from me... $140 is not much, but how it was taken and how I was treated in the bank, its principal. I really hope something can be done about this. All the things I said I truly do apologize for. I'm not an angry guy, but the way I was initially treated, it seemed like the right emotion to have at the time. Below is the address of the branch I visited. I'm sure the situation has been noted for that location.
On a final note, I will be forwarding this exact message to the BBB, AG, and any other consumer protection agency I can utilize in an attempt to retrieve my money. I have never been treated like that in my entire life.
