Without sending for or asking for a Choice Point report, I recieved at my residential address what appears to be a credit report not only containing my information but also that of two other individuals that I do not know. If I were a crook, I could easily become them and assume their identities as well as they could mine. You could have a false accident claim filed against you, criminal or medical record overnight, without your knowledge or authorization. They also change your name and address or use variations of your name with your social security number or those of other people are in fact included in your report. This will alow you to be turned down for credit, insurance though C.L.U. E and employment or other governmental services. They even admit that their sources do not come from any governmental agency or department of Motor vehicles.
They were reported to Federal Trade Commission for their invasion of Privacy and divulging information that was supposed to be covered by a Credit Freeze.
For the rest of you out there trying to "fix" your credit through these reporting agencies like Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, forget abaout it, it is just another "self made" industry, taking advantage of victims of Identity theft, while you pay the wolves to watch the henhouse.
My advice is to gather enough information and "Collectively" sue the daylights out of them after you download form 3949A at Internal Revenue Service and collect a 10% Reward for them finding the inaccuracies in reporting. Last time I checked that's called slander and invasion of privacy. I hope they are shut down for the buying and selling of information, placing you at risk!
