I have been charged $12.00 for the past 3 months from CIC*Triple Advantage. I first googled this, and consumer complaints came up. I read a couple of the reports and realized I was incorrectly charged.

I signed up with freecreditreport.com in July to see my credit score, but I never entered my credit card information, only my SSN. They apparently can still charge your card since that is what they did to me.

I first called my credit card company, and they were definitely familiar with this issue. They gave me the number they had on file for freecreditreport.com, which is 1-877-481-6825 and told me that they are usually pretty good about refunding money, and if not that the credit card company would take care of it.

I spoke with a representative at freecreditreport.com and she didn't have all the answers. She couldn't explain why I was charged when I hadn't entered my card info. She said she couldn't reverse membership charges, but as a courtesy, she would remove my most recent charge. I'm taking the rest up with the credit card company.

FYI, do not give them your card # or SSN when you call freecreditreport.com. They can look up your account information by your email address. They really need to be stopped. There is a disclaimer on their website stating that you will be charged after 30 days of your free membership, but you would think you had to give them your credit card information. Hope this helps.
