We purchased a bow flex machine on credit through HC Processing Center. They had a promotion going. 16.99% $22.00 for the first 12 months of the contract providing payments we received by the due date.
Because we were told our payments were due the third Friday of each month, I set up reoccurring automatic payments to be sent from my bank the first week of each month.
We made our first payment June 12 and the automatic payments were scheduled to start in July. My payments were received by HC processing and cleared my bank account the first week of July, the first week of August, and the first week of September.
September 11th I received a collection letter from them stating we were 30 days past due and our account was now in their collection department.
They told me that because my July payment arrived before it was due, that it was credited to June and the August payment was then credited toward the July payment which made it late and kicked me off the promotional rate... Now my payments are $50.00/month, my interest rate in 21.9%, I was also charged a $39.00 late fee for July and again for August.
They refused to work with me because they said my contract clearly stated that I must make my payment within the billing cycle. I talked to a manager to ask if because it was an honest mistake on our part and the payments actually arrived early if they would reverse the charges and allow me to stay on the promotional plan.
They refused and merely stated it I should have read my contract as the conditions were clearly stated.
I am so extremely upset by the whole thing. I am paying off the loan right away because I refuse to give that scamming company a dime more than I have to! Oh. They are also going to charge me $14.95 to make my payment over the phone...
Maybe I'll just Fed-ex it to them. I would rather give my money to anyone other than HC Processing after the poor treatment they have shown us as promptly paying customers!
