First, this company said they would take the entire loan out plus "interest" (which exceeded my state statute limitations) and advised me that I could get another loan for the same amount that very same day.
Well, when the time came they told me that I could not get another loan for 4 days which overdrew my checking account. This caused my bank to return the payment to Cash Transfer Centers and then they called me, at work, to advise that I had to pay them the initial loan amount, the "illegal" interest, plus a $58 NSF fee. (according to my state statutes on PayDay loans, the NSF fee cannot exceed $20)
I called the company and a gentleman told me to Quick Collect the principle and interest payment and I would be okay. I did this, with an additional $14.00 charge, only to receive a nasty email from the company advising that I owe them $58 and to send it immediately.
I did not, I sent an email to them quoting state statutes, advised that I would send them a $20 money order for the NSF and that they better quite calling my employer. They threaten to have my employer take the payment out of my pay but, in my state, this is not an option without a judgment from the court and on PayDay loans, the lender is even responsible for half of the court costs.
This would make the $58 that they were trying to get probably about $8 if that much. I told them to contact me via email only and to not call my home or my place of business. I have not heard from them as of yet but I am sure they will try some scare tactic to get their $58 out of me but, as far as I'm concerned, that is not going to happen.
I believe they go under several names as all of these theives do. They are all over the world but my phone calls and transactions were with Cash Transfer Centers, British Columbia.
