Ripoff, Demanding $1800 more, Threatening Lawsuit Husband sent to Iraq last year now they are taking advantage. Frustrated soldier's wife in Kansas

My husband who owned a small side business (Paintball) was sent to Iraq last year, I (his wife) got behind on the monthly payments to Northern Leasing Systems.
When contacted by NLS, the lady who contacted me (Her name is Tomeka Small) is so rude, does not listen to me at all.

I've told her over and over that my husband is still serving in IRAQ and will not be home until the end of the year.

She demands payment of $1800, claiming we still owe this amount even though we have to this point paid them $1600 for the one credit card machine. (I am not saying we do not owe this amount as we did sign an agreement of some sort 3 years ago) I told her that I do not have $1800 but that I can make payments on his account. She refuses to let me make payments, she says it is to late and the money is due NOW. She rambles on in an ugly tone with threats of a lawsuit, derogatory credit report (which they did put on my husband's credit report as a Key Derogatory), and more.

I requested a copy of the lease agreement from her and when received via fax it was completely illegible as the font was so tiny, I asked for a copy of the agreement via regular mail at that point since the other was not legible but never received a copy.

I have spoken to the JAG and they tell me to just go ahead and start sending monthly payments and see if they really do refuse to accept payments, but I spoke to them before seeing all these consumer complaintss and now I'm scared to give that company another dime. I do not know what to do at this point. I do not want it to go a a judgement against my husband on his Credit Report and feel like paying them more Any advice would be appreciated.

Also she is stating that the credit card machine needs to be returned to them. I know they are a "leasing" company but surely all the money that we've forked out to them has more then covered the one little machine. Is the 48 month lease agreement, with $65 a month payments, not a payment plan to pay for the eventual ownership of the Credit Card Machine itself? Fact is we NEVER use the machine, we canceled the service with Lynk Systems long ago who was servicing the machine because we never used it. But I do not feel we should have to give it back to NLS after all the money we have paid thus far and all the money they say we still owe.

Thank You for listening to this frustrated soldier's wife in Kansas
