Capital First
Is a ripoff

My report is much the same as the previous poster. I actually logged onto this site last week to see if anyone had listed this company and no one had, so I thought I was safe. WRONG!

On May 9th, I got the phone call in the evening and these people sound reputable. You are promised that after they deduct $19.95 from your bank account, you will receive a MasterCard with a $2,500 limit.

Now, I had to ask them what was the catch. Of course, they tell you there is none and if you are not satisified that you can call or write to cancel during your 7 day free trial period after you have received your packet which includes your card and certain discounts. After you give your information, you are transferred to a "supervisor" who verifies that you understand the information and then you listen to a computer generated voice prompting system.

They CLEARLY tell you that the $99.95 annual fee and $59.95 processing fee will be automatically CHARGED to the card once you decide to KEEP the card. They took the $19.95 from my account on May 14th, I received the packet today, May 22nd, MINUS the MasterCard, which I have to fill out an approval form to receive. Might I also add that the card only has a $2,500 limit if YOU SEND THEM $2,500 to PUT ON YOUR ACCOUNT (minus their fees... Whatever that is).

They describe the card as a "Pay-As-You-Go" credit card. ALL different from what was said in the phone solicitation. They also give you a mber name and password to log onto their website to cancel, but guess what... No matter how much you try, it keeps telling you "login failed". I have the feeling i will get the same treatment with the attempts to contact them by phone. Read what my letter in my packet says today:

*After your 7 day free trial, there is a one time $59.95 processing fee and a low annual membership fee of just $99.95, which will be billed to the account number that we have on file for you, at your prior authorization. You have agreed that this fee will be drafted from your bank account which will be submitted for debit. Of course, if you wish to cancel, simply call customer service toll-free at 1-866-892-6018 during the first 7 days and you will never be billed.*

THIS IS A SCAM! I figured if it was a scam, at the most, all I would lose is $20, but now I have to worry about them debiting my checking account for another $160 before the month of May concludes. I think I am angrier that I didn't get my mail until after their phone lines and my bank closed today, than I am that I lost my much needed $20. Be careful people. I learned my lesson.
