Ok, This is my Primerica story.
A few months ago, I get a call from someone (I mean i don't think Frank would like that im writing this), But anyway, I get a call and this man on the phone tells me his name, and what he does. He says that my resume had come across his desk, and that his company was looking for managers.
I didn't think anything of it, because my education is on the resume, Im attending college for Business Management. So for the most part, that made alot of sense. Normally, What i do when someone calls me about a job, I ask about the company, you know, name and what kind of industry and what not.
The only answer i got was, "We'll discuss that at the interview." So, Im like ok? So that wednesday, I go on the interview, and things seem to be ok. Like the office is clean and everyone is dressed nicely, So im thinking its an legitimate place of employment.
I meet with frank's assistant (who also happens to be his fiance') and she explains everything to me. She says the company is Primerica, and what they do is Insurance, and Mortgages, Refinances and what not. So that seem very appealing to me, since out of all my classes, i got an A in accounting and Business math.
But then, we get the talking more, and sure enough, the topic of me paying for something came up. She goes i had to pay $199 for the Insurance class and it comes with my books and what not. But before i did my classes, I went to a few meetings.
Dammit, I swear it felt like i was at a pep rally instead of a meeting. They was constantly clapping, and the word "Phenominal" was being thrown around like confetti at Times Square. These weren't meetings. They was just discussions about making money, and what to do and what not to do. They really didn't show me anything.
Now, I don't know about some, But i came into the company right around the time of the convention. This convention was being held in Cicinnati, Ohio, And you had to pay JUST TO GO to the thing which was $129. PLUS, You pay for your room and board, and your expenses. And this convention was for "useful information to further expand your business".
So, its clear from reading this, I tend to be a bit of a smart ass, So im asking, "What are they gonna say ohio, that you won't tell me here?" I never got an answer to that one. But anywho, They kept pushing, and pushing for me to pay for SOMETHING!
Oh, after i took my insurance class, I had to pay $61 just to get my finger prints done! According to the FDLE officer i spoke to about this, In the state of florida, to get your prints done for licensing purposes, you go to your local courthouse and pay $10, and the court house sends to the FBI for you.
Primerica is nothing but a pyramid scheme. Nobody makes money but the people over you. They ask you for "References" about your application, but its just to call them up to reel them in.
If you have any loved ones in this company, punch them in their head real quick and let them know what their getting into. Simple things like getting your fingerprints done will cost you an arm and a leg. $61 can fill my gas tank up.
