Asset Acceptance
Ripoff

I have just written Asset Acceptance a cease & desist letter for attempting to collect on a debt that is past the statute of limitations. (In Texas the SOL is 4 years, this debt over 8 years old). My credit reports are clear & clean of any derogatory items as of yesterday.

My question to all out there... If they decide to file a law suit...
1) Will I get a notice of the suit via the mail?
2) How long do I have to prepare before the court date?
3) And, most important, what proof must I have to prove that this debt is past the SOL?
