My husband and I decided to buy a place through owner finance, every thing was fine until the people who held the deed on it decided to sell the deed. Ocwen bought the deed and it has been a living nightmare, you can not talk to them as they will tell you one thing and turn right around and stab you in the back.
The first time I delt with them was our first monthly statement was wrong so I called to talk to some one to straighten it out they told me I was not authorized to decuss the account I could not believe my ears. I told the person on the line both mine and my husbands names were on the deed, they told me it did't matter my husband would have to give his permission for me to decuss the account.
We got that taken care of then my husband had to have a double By-pass I called to let them know our payment would be late as I had to take a couple of weeks of of work to care for him. Their comment was thats not our problem I was in shock I could not believe how heartless they really were. Ever since that time We have had nothing but trouble from them they have put insurance on us saying we did not have insurance or show proper proof of insurance when every time we got our own insurance our insurance company would fax all the information.
The property evaluations they did were at least 2 times a year how many times can a property be evaluated? They would tell us we were behind so I would send extra money it seemed we never got cought up then the big one came they told us they were going to forclose we tried every thing we tried to talk to them, we would just get off the phone after comming to some agreement and it couldn't have been 10 minutes the phone would ring it was Ocwen I would tell them I just talked to some one from their company and we worked out a deal their comment would be well you didn't talk to me. We gave up, we did what I said I would never do we filed Bankruptcy. It gets even better we have done every thing the courts have told us to do. Now Ocwen has not the still keep putting insurance on us even though we have insurance and proof of it, every statement they sent us always 2 every month had 2 different amounts on each statement we never knew how much we owed pluss there was other charges on it. We stopped getting a statements all together the last one we got was in September of last year. Their lawyer told our lawyer they did over charge us and were admitting it and would like to settle it they offered us a couple of deals 1) they would take so much off our home loan about $5,000. Then we would have 30 day's to refinance our home or 2) they would take some money off what we owe them and give us $5,000. Cash but we would have to sign a release form. I didn't even through 2 pages all i said was do they really think we are that stupid or just crazy. If we signed it we wouuld not be able to hold them accountable for any thing after and it also stated we did not have proper proof of insurance, I did not need to read anymore it made me sick to think of what money hungry crooks they are they are woorse than the muffia. Is there not some out there who can stop these crooks!!!
