JK Harris charged me $6500 to help resolve some complex tax issues. The interviewer (bonehead) told me to be prepared to wait... Because it could take up to 10 months. Well 4 years later I'm finally resolving the IRS problems, ON My OWN I must say.
The JK Harris rep never ever called me to update me. I'd go months and months without a word. So I'd initiate the call only to hear over and over that there is nothing we can do except wait... Its in the IRS hands.
I finally received the Offer of Compromise from the IRS and it wasn't pennies on the dollar as they say in the TV Ads. It was more like. 50 cents on the dollar. When I got the final figure from the IRS... I spoke with the JK Harris and Associates rep who told me there was nothing else we could do... That their number is the number.
So I side stepped JK Harris and started communicating with the IRS directly. The lady I was working with at the IRS said she'd never spoken with anyone from JK Harris. No when they say they NEGOTIATE ON YOUR BEHALF. BULL!!! They don't negotiate... They just fill out the forms for you.
Well the lady from the IRS was a h*l of alot more compassionate than the JK Harris rep. She gave me some helpful deductions that I could take STILL and so my settlement went from $78,000 down to $38,000 or so with No Help From JK Harris and Associates.
So when I complained to JK Harris and Associates they sent me a letter saying that they did all they could and here's $200 to basically keep my mouth shut. So I told them to stick that request up the rear end and I fully intend on retaining my right to speak to as many people as I can to keep others from making the same mistake I made.
So if you're thinking of using JK Harris and Associates... Just send me $3500 or more and I'll tell you right up front that I'm just going to take your money. You'll feel better for that than giving it to JK Harris and Associates for years of procrastinating worthlessness.
Deal with the IRS directly. They have Taxpayer Advocacy service that will help you through your tax issues much better and less expensively than JK Harris.
