Applied Bank - Cross Country
Ripoff misleading uninformative can never give a straight answer Wilmington Delaware

First of all, I've read entries that was dated back to 2002 that said Applied Cards, so how was able to receive a Cross Country card then later was notified that it's Applied in 2005?

Second, I am being charged monthly for cash advance finance charge when I've never taken out a cash advance. When asked, they told me that it's their procedure and that's how they word it.

Now, I was behind on my card. I know it's my fault, I just had things coming up that needed my immediate attention. With the birth of my child, I was out of work for a month. I purchased the payment coverage plan but I wasn't out of work long enough for that to kick in. I kept getting phone calls from Applied Card, everywhere, home, work and even my aunt's house. They left a message on her machine. I was furious. I called Applied and spoke with Michael and they said I must have used her phone to call them at one point because that's the only way they could have gotten it without me giving it to them. I did call them from my aunt's phone once. I was heated. I said so if I borrowed a phone from a friend, you'll call and harrass their number looking for me too? I told them I'm gon start calling them from a pay phone at the police station.

So after we settled that, Michael asked if I wanted to make a payment. I told him I don't have $600 in which every single rep asked me for prior to speaking with Michael. He told me well they have a plan called the Accomodation Prgram. He asked me for my information and said if I mail in a $52.00 payment, once they receive that payment, I'll be enrolled in the Accomodation Program which will suspend all fees and interest charges as long as I continue to make my monthly $35.00 payment on time. I agreed and mailed out a $52.00 payment as soon as I got off the phone.

On the Feb. 27th or 28th, I received a call from them asking for a payment. I told the lady about the conversation on the 10th and she stated that it looks like they received the payment on the 13th of February but for some reason, I was never enrolled in the program. She told me she would enroll me then AGAIN.

Meanwhile, I received a letter from them dated 2/10/06 stating that I've been accepted into the Accomodation program but I needed to mail out a payment of $35.00 by 2/10/06. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? That's not what we agreed on. As a matter of fact, they're crazy, letter dated 2/10/06 and I'm supposed to mail them a payment by 2/10/06??

Also, I received more letters and emails from them demanding payments, not to mention letters from their so-called lawyers.

On March 12, I checked my mailbox and saw that I got another letter from them dated on 3/2/06 asking for a payment of $35.00 by 3/8/06. I called them right away and explained to her the situation. She told me "for some reason" I'm not enrolled in the program but she will enroll me again. I thank her and got off the phone.

On March 14, I called them again to see if I was in the program. I spoke with Matthew and he said I'm not enrolled in it. I was heated again. He put me on hold and came back saying "because of 'my'failure to follow through with my payment arrangement" I cut him off and AGAIN explained to him what happened. He told me that I was just entered into the program on the 12th. I told him that's not true. I was supposed to be enrolled in there on the 10th of February but something happened on your end and for some reason, even though you received my initial payment, I'm still not enrolled in the program.

A day later, I received my statement showing overlimit fees, late fees and cash advance fee. I called them again and spoke with Tanita. I can tell she thought everything was funny because I can hear her laughing. I explained to her my situation again. I told her I'm trying to make good on my debt but they're not working with me. I did my part but for some reason, they're having "computer" issues. She tells me that I just spoke with them yesterday. I told her that I know I did but I just received my bill and wanted to know what kind of story they are going to give me. She told me that when the calls are computer generated and I don't have to answer my calls. I told her if my phone rings and rings, how am I not supposed to answer it. Now I'm being told that as soon as they get my $35.00 payment, I should be automatically enrolled, which was a different story from February 10th.

I sent out my payment before I got my statement. I have to wait until I get my next statement to see if my problem is fixed. I'm so frustrated.
