I recently received a letter from NCO about an AT&T phone bill that supposedly was overdue. The funny thing is that the phone line was disconnected 3-4 years ago when I was in college and granted when I moved I had an outstanding balance... But it was paid for and taken care of years ago.
So, I asked NCO to give me AT&T's number so I can contact them directly to ask about this balance, but convienently their policy is not to divulge information about their clients. Does anyone know if NCO makes up balances and claims?
Do I need to contact the Credit Bureaus to make sure my credit rating is not getting screwed? I just need some advice... HELP! What should I do next???
